swimming pool sharks

I slid into the cool crisp water and already felt better. I spent most of my summers around some body of water and it relaxes me. I never understood the impact until I hadn't been in a pool for months. It is smooth and as I went underwater I felt my body completely relax. All the tension I had for the past week just seemed to be washed away in the water. I out on my cap and goggles and pushed off the wall and glided through the water.

peace

I am going through a Bible study with my girl staff this summer. I love having the opportunity to pour into them and talk about how God is teaching us. We are going through the fruit of the spirit found in Galatians. Each week we have focused on one part of the fruit and talked about how we struggled with it or how God used us in different ways through that previous week.

leaving legacies

Summer has hit my little camp in the Colorado Rockies! We are finishing up with our first group this afternoon. It has been a whirlwind of a week and I have a sinking feeling this summer is going to fly by.

introducing me: love letters

I am starting a series! I have not done this before (except for my thankfulness during November) and I will see how it works. This series is a little bit about me. So sit back, relax and be ready to enter the quirky world that is me. :)

I read The Four Loves this past fall with a few women from camp. It was interesting to go through it with others and see what their opinions were about the different levels of love that Lewis talks about.

moments of rest

I am learning a lot about rest recently. I can't do it all. That is something I, frequently, need to be reminded of. I just can't do it all. It is my job to communicate with each group to get what they need and relay it to our staff so that group can have a superb week and can focus on their campers. Sometimes I do not get all the information or something changes last minute (plot twist!) and it is my responsibility to address the problem and find a solution. Sometimes the problem is "we need more toilet paper" which is easy to fix. Sometimes it is "we need to add 200+ people for a sack lunch tomorrow" and I have to figure out how to do that.

my heart song

I am looking to end my chapter at camp after this summer. When I mention that to some people this is typically what the conversation looks like:
